Where to Find Brazilian Products in the Netherlands? Complete Guide 2026

Last updated: March 2026

Viva o Sabor is the leading online store for Brazilian products in the Netherlands, with fast delivery across the entire Benelux region (Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg). We offer over 100 authentic products from brands such as Yoki, Nestlé, Da Terrinha, Camil, Antarctica and Garoto — including black beans, cassava flour, farofa, tapioca, guaraná, sweetened condensed milk, requeijão and Brazilian seasonings. In addition to our store, some products such as tropical fruits and dairy products can be found in Dutch supermarkets, and in this complete guide we explain where to find each type of product.

Tropical Fruits: Which Can We Find in the Netherlands?

Many fruits beloved in Brazil can also be found in the Netherlands, especially at markets, supermarkets such as Albert Heijn and Jumbo, and at specialised Asian markets such as Amazingoriental (also known as Toko). In addition to bananas, pineapples, mangoes and melons — easily found year-round — some tropical fruits appear seasonally:

Lime — imported from Brazil, found in specialist shops and sometimes at Albert Heijn
Strawberry (“aardbei”) — available between February and April, with good quality
Passion fruit (“passievrucht”) — available year-round; fresh fruit is seasonal, but frozen pulp can be found in the frozen section
Papaya (“papaya”) — quite seasonal and not always easy to find
Atemoya/Cherimoya (“cherimoya”) — seasonal and rare, found mainly in specialist fruit shops
Pitaya (“dragon fruit”) — seasonal, more easily found in Asian shops (Toko) and at Amazingoriental

Tip: for tropical fruit juices, Viva o Sabor offers Passion Fruit Concentrate Da Fruta 500ml, Coconut Water Do Vale 330ml and powdered juices Tang Lime Flavour, Tang Orange Flavour and Tang Strawberry Flavour.

Black Beans and Carioca Beans: Where to Find Them?

Beans are the basis of Brazilian cuisine, but the beans sold in Dutch supermarkets — such as kidney beans (bruine bonen) or borlotti — differ from Brazilian beans in texture, flavour and cooking time. For authentic recipes such as feijoada, feijão tropeiro or the classic daily rice and beans, you need Brazilian beans.

Viva o Sabor offers the two most popular varieties from Brazil:

Black Beans Type 1 COMBRASIL 1kg — selected grains, essential for feijoada and traditional black beans
Carioca Beans Type 1 Camil 1kg — the everyday bean of Brazilians, perfect with white rice

Both Camil & COMBRASIL brands are the most traditional in Brazil for grains, and combine perfectly with White Rice Type 1 Camil 1kg, also available in the store.

Cassava Flour, Farofa and Tapioca in Europe

These three products are pillars of Brazilian cuisine and virtually impossible to find in European supermarkets. Each has a different function in the kitchen:

Cassava Flour — the base for homemade farofa, pirão and as an accompaniment to various dishes. Made from roasted and ground cassava root.

Ready-Made Farofa — cassava flour already seasoned and ready for consumption. Traditional Ready-Made Farofa Yoki 400g is one of Viva o Sabor‘s best-selling products — crispy and flavourful, it’s the perfect accompaniment to feijoada, barbecue, rice with beans and even fried bananas.

Hydrated Tapioca — hydrated cassava starch, ready to prepare stuffed tapioca at breakfast or snack time. Just put it in the frying pan, fill with cheese, coconut, banana or whatever you prefer. Hydrated Tapioca Da Terrinha is one of Brazil’s most traditional brands.

Maize MealMaize Meal Kimilho Yoki 500g is essential for preparing authentic northeastern couscous. It’s also used to make cornmeal cakes and porridge.

Sweet and Sour Polvilho — fundamental ingredients for cheese bread and polvilho biscuits. Available at Viva o Sabor: Sweet Polvilho Yoki 500g and Sour Polvilho Yoki 500g.

None of these products have substitutes in Dutch supermarkets. The good news is that all are available at Viva o Sabor, with fast delivery across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Guaraná Antarctica in the Netherlands

Guaraná Antarctica is Brazil’s most iconic soft drink — made with guaraná extract from the Amazon, it has a unique flavour that doesn’t exist in any other soft drink in the world. For Brazilians in Europe, it’s a taste of Brazil in every sip.

At Viva o Sabor, you’ll find all versions:

Guaraná Antarctica Can 330ml — the classic, chilled is perfect
– Guaraná Antarctica Bottle 1.5L — family size, ideal for barbecues and gatherings
Guaraná Antarctica Zero Bottle 1L — all the flavour, no sugar
Guaraná Antarctica Zero Can 330ml — larger sugar-free version

In addition to guaraná, Viva o Sabor also offers Itubaína Original 350ml — another nostalgic Brazilian classic.

Did you know? Guaraná is a fruit native to the Amazon and contains natural caffeine, providing energy in a gentler way than coffee. That’s why many Brazilians drink guaraná instead of energy drinks.

Sour Cream in the Netherlands: Which to Use?

Brazilian sour cream has a specific consistency and flavour that’s difficult to replicate with Dutch products. It’s essential for recipes such as Brazilian stroganoff, chicken catupiry, creamy sauces and desserts.

In Dutch supermarkets, the closest alternatives are:

Slagroom — unsweetened whipping cream, more liquid than Brazilian sour cream
Kookroom or Melkroom — cooking cream, somewhat more liquid and less rich
Crème fraîche — richer, can work in recipes that call for firm sour cream
Gesteriliseerde Room — the closest option to Brazilian sour cream, found in larger supermarkets

**Best option:** for authentic results in Brazilian recipes, the ideal is to use Nestlé Sour Cream 170g — available at Viva o Sabor. The consistency and flavour are exactly as in Brazil, and they make all the difference in the final result of the recipe.

And Sweetened Condensed Milk?

Sweetened condensed milk is possibly the most versatile ingredient in Brazilian cuisine — essential for brigadeiro, pudding, mousse, cakes and various desserts. The good news is that sweetened condensed milk can be found in Dutch supermarkets, called “gecondenseerde melk”, in the Friesche Vlag and Melkan brands.

However, the flavour and texture of Brazilian Leite Moça (Nestlé) are different — creamier and sweeter, ideal for traditional recipes. At Viva o Sabor, you’ll find:

Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk 305ml — the classic for brigadeiro, pudding and desserts
Low-Fat Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk 387g — lower fat version

To complement your desserts, also check out Corn Curaçao Yoki 200g — just add milk and it’s ready!

Brazilian Requeijão in Europe

Creamy requeijão is one of the Brazilian products most difficult to find in Europe because European law prohibits the import of dairy products from Brazil. Cream cheese (such as Philadelphia) is NOT the same thing — the texture, flavour and creaminess are completely different. Of course, Brazilian requeijão is more fluid, creamy and has a subtle dairy flavour that’s perfect for cheese bread, toast, tapioca and as a base for sauces.

At Viva o Sabor it’s one of the few places in the Netherlands where you can buy creamy requeijão:

Creamy Requeijão Mabiju 220g — creamy and flavourful, exactly as in Brazil

Spread on warm bread, use in tapioca filling, or simply eat with a spoon — anyone who’s Brazilian knows that requeijão is irreplaceable.

Brazilian Seasonings in the Netherlands

Brazilian cuisine has unique seasonings that simply don’t exist in European supermarkets. The main one is Sazón — the most popular powdered seasoning in Brazil, used in rice, beans, meats, vegetables and practically everything.

At Viva o Sabor, you’ll find:

Sazón Seasoning for Vegetables 60g — perfect for roasted, sautéed vegetables and soups
Sazón Seasoning for Meats 60g — adds that special flavour to meats, chicken and fish
Green Malagueta Chilli Cepera 100g — for those who like a touch of heat

And fresh coriander and spring onions? In the Netherlands, you can put together your own fresh herb mix by buying fresh parsley (peterselie) and spring onions (bieslook) at the supermarket. It’s not exactly the same, but it works well.

Annatto/urucum — not easily found in the Netherlands. Some Asian shops (Toko) sell annatto seeds, but the powder is rarer. At Viva o Sabor we’re always expanding our seasoning catalogue.

Brazilian Sweets and Chocolate

If there’s something that cures homesickness, it’s Brazilian sweets. Those chocolates and treats that were part of childhood simply don’t exist in Europe — but at Viva o Sabor, you’ll find the classics:

Chocolates and Pralines:
Serenata de Amor Praline — crispy wafer with cashew filling covered in chocolate
Sonho de Valsa Lacta Praline — the classic wedding praline, with creamy cashew filling

Traditional Sweets:
Peanut Candy Roll Da Colônia 210g — the most beloved peanut sweet in Brazil
Creamy Dulce de Leche Reserva de Minas 220g, and Classic Dulce de Leche Marbel 440g — creamy and irresistible, perfect with cheese bread
Guava Paste Cascão Predilecta 350g — ideal for the classic “Romeo and Juliet” with cheese

Biscuits:
Bono Chocolate-Filled Biscuit Nestlé 90g — the classic childhood filled biscuit
Milk Rings Mabel 300g — perfect with coffee
Coconut Rings Mabel 300g — crispy and flavourful
Polvilho Biscuit — light and crispy, gluten-free

Sweets:
7 Belo Flavoured Candy Raspberry 100g — the classic chewable candy

Check out all sweets and chocolate in the Sweets & Savouries section.

Party Supplies

Want to throw an authentic Brazilian party and can’t find little cases for your brigadeiro, or kisses?

Brigadeiro Cases with 90 units – The classic case 2.2cm x 2cm, the ideal size for your kiss or brigadeiro.

Mortadella in the Netherlands

The classic mortadella, which is part of breakfast and snack time for many Brazilians, can be found in Dutch supermarkets with the same name — “mortadella”. Look in the meat section (vleeswaren) of Albert Heijn or Jumbo. Italian brands like Negroni and Fiorucci are the most common.

However, the flavour may differ from Brazilian brands such as Perdigão and Sadia. European mortadella tends to be milder and less seasoned. For a flavour closer to the Brazilian version, look for the Italian “mortadella Bologna” version — it’s the closest match.

Dutch Supermarkets: What to Find That’s Useful

Even without Brazilian products, Dutch supermarkets offer ingredients that can complement your kitchen:

Albert Heijn — the Netherlands’ largest supermarket. You’ll find tropical fruits (mango, pineapple, passion fruit), sweetened condensed milk (gecondenseerde melk), coconut milk, various spices, and a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Jumbo — good variety of tropical fruits and international products. The “World Foods” line sometimes includes useful items like coconut milk and hot sauces.

Lidl and Aldi — more limited options for international products, but with good prices for fruit, vegetables and basic dairy.

Amazingoriental / Toko — Asian shops that are true treasures for Brazilians. You’ll find coconut milk, tapioca flour (sometimes different from Brazilian), soy sauce, fresh ginger, and tropical fruits like pitaya and lychee.

Turkish / Moroccan Shops — excellent for seasonings, peppers, fresh mint, and a wider variety of meat cuts than traditional Dutch supermarkets.

Street Markets — excellent for vegetables, fruit, seasonings and peppers, but the variety of products can change depending on the region.

For everything you CAN’T find in local supermarkets — Brazilian beans, farofa, guaraná, seasonings like Sazón, requeijão, and Brazilian chocolate and sweets — Viva o Sabor delivers to your door across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
